    Better LATE than NEVERRRRRRRRR

So I have a few minutes this morning just to hang out at the local coffee shop ( although I should be doing something at home such as laundry or dishes). I just had a massage – third one in as many weeks- to try to work out the kink that I put in my neck from doing head stands. Yes, head stands, and yes, I am probably far too old to be learning to do them now and my body is rebelling hard! I just really wanted to do them and get strong and be able to get over my fear of being upside down. I didn’t even know I had a fear of being upside down until I tried it….. It’s kinda scary.
Karen, I heard that you guys sold your condo already! Wow. Did you get what you wanted for it? What a load off, I imagine. I guess things are selling in this town. I hope boats are selling too because we are looking at selling ours this summer. We just never get around to using it and it is a pricey luxury to have sitting around when that money could be used in better ways.
So now I have to go to the airport to pick up a friend of Jordan’s who is flying in from Whitehorse to surprise her for her birthday… How nice is that? She will be here for the weekend.
Gary is working in Arizona (Scotsdale) this week and will be home on Sunday. Then things get back to normal around here for awhile.
I must away! The drive to the airport is a lengthy one and I must not be tardy!
Soon we shall speak again, my sisters!

    Angels or Witches?

Karen, let’s do something on your birthday. It’s a Sunday. Something simple like go out for lunch?

There will be a memoriam for Grandma in Monday’s paper. It’s been five years already.

Emil’s here and he’d like to go to Neil’s, and so would I, but I feel lazy. Also have dishes to do and am too lazy to get started. I’m blaming this on the grey/white of the day, but really it’s lovely outside and I just need to get moving.

Thought of phoning Cameron this morning but it was while I was doing something else so of course it didn’t happen.

Joan I was surprised you hadn’t heard me tell about Mom getting Karen and me up to see the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I always think I’ve told everyone everything, in a way.

So here’s one I assume you’ve heard. But maybe you haven’t. Mom told me, and I remember it a little, or think I do.

When I was about three, she and I were somewhere like a bus station and saw a woman dressed in a colourful sari, and I exclaimed, “An angel!”

And when at the same place I saw a nun in her long black habit, I said “A witch!”

    nuns

    three sisters!

    SO much to READ!!!!!

I have been waiting and waiting for someone to post! I signed in today and holy moly, you guys had gone to town there!! Yup I have been missing my Monday blogging for awhile now… not sure why that is but will try to get back on track soon.
It had been cooler here as well the past couple of days (not “snow” cool, but not warm either). The next couple of days are to be sunny and beautiful – our cherry tree had its first spray today and the blooms are starting. Some people have already been planting their flowers… risky, I would say, but what do I know about gardening? Not much, to be sure.
I sold a painting yesterday! Of course, it was to a friend of mine, but that counts cuz she’s paying me. And Kenny Federko has commissioned me for a huge 4 ft x 6 ft painting to hang in his new house…. so I will be making a little money for my trip to NY with the girls. I am in the midst of working on a series of 5 painting and they all have to do with a woman and the beach… need a name for the series or for each painting- I’ll attach an unfinished photo of the three and maybe you could think of a name or three? And no judging – the second and third are not done yet and will look considerably different once I get my ass back to them…)
I need to clean my house…. we are having the house appraised tomorrow for our bank …. doing some changes and need an updated appraisal. Pain in the butt. Gary is in Calgary this week for work so it’s pretty chill around here…..toast and avocado for dinner :)
I also need to get my taxes done… holy moly … how did I get so behind in my duties? Must be cuz I went back to work 6 hours a week, huh? Ya. Gotta be it:)
Dad was here on Monday for Gary’s birthday dinner and will be here this coming Monday again, for Jordan’s birthday dinner. Kathy, you totally had him with your April Fool’s joke. He called and asked me if I would have time to pick you up at the airport that morning, lol! Good one.
I MUST be the favourite Auntie! That is two kiddies to be born on my birthday…. I’m sure that is why. Right????
Ok I’m off. Got stuff to get done and I’m gonna do it!!!!!

Hmm, just can’t seem to do it! I did manage to put it in the gallery, but that’s as far as it will go!

Ok, we’re ready to roll! Had to check because lost everything I wrote yesterday. Apparently I wasn’t logged in, but why did the site allow me to write up a post then? Hmm
Anyway! Kathy, I worked last weekend so you would’ve wasted your gas money coming to see me, although there are numerous other people and places to see I guess! I’ve started some flowers and a few tomatoes. It took me a few hours yesterday morning to transplant them and now my house literally smells like dirt! And I ran out of dirt, so must get more before I can finish. Anyway, the point being, I’ll have lots of lobelia this spring if you want some maybe a couple of extra tomatoes too.
Jim and Evelyn, at ages 85&86 have decided to move into an assisted living complex. They are thinking ahead, as Evelyn is waiting for a hip replacement and just the other day she admitted she just doesn’t feel like cooking anymore. Who knew? After 65 years of feeding countless hungry mouths she sure deserves to enjoy her days without feeling obligated to provide meals! Dick and I, Marc, Michelle, and Lexi toured their small one-bedroom suite the other day. It’s brand spanking new and really, overall a beautiful complex. There will be an RN available 24/7, as well as all meals provided. Of course there are amenities such as a library, theatre room, hair care, and an office which in the future hopes to make available massage therapy and doctor visits! There is a bistro and breakfast bar which makes available homemade snacks as well as chips, chocolate, and the like! They will be able to keep their vehicle and come and go as they please, and if something should happen to one or the other, they will not be separated. They put their house on the market one day last week, and it’s looking like it may be sold already! I’m happy for them!
We got, and are still getting a big dump of snow here, after a night of freezing rain yesterday. The grass was showing thru on Monday but- everything is white again! Dick shovelled off the drive this morning and it will likely have to be done again before morning if I’m to get to work! What a province! However; saying that, our winter was phenomenal- probably every bit as mild as Kelowna ( in the higher elevations!).
Michelle’s c-section has been booked for May 24th, Joan. You and Kade will have to share your birthdays again! I guess the whole world doesn’t need to know that-let’s keep it under our hats.
The church supper fundraiser is sold out already for the 22, so hopefully everyone that wanted a ticket got one! I plan to enjoy the evening thoroughly…my only job this year was providing the tickets, and the wine glasses! I made a stained glass piece for a door prize. “A tribute to the Farmer” is the theme this year. I still haven’t figured out how to post a pic but will try to do it separately so I don’t lose this book!
Hope Gary enjoyed his birthday… Will give him a call soon!
